Booking a skip
How do I book a skip?
Send the street address, the load and the week by WhatsApp or a call to 064 582 1436. The booking form on every page reaches the same line.
When does the skip arrive?
The skip arrives on a day in the week you book. The day itself is confirmed with the booking.
What are the booking line's hours?
08:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and 08:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays. The line is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Sizes and prices
What does all-in mean?
All-in means one price pays for delivery, 3 days on site, collection and disposal.
What is the biggest skip?
The 8m³ maxi skip, from R2,000 all-in. It takes about 120 wheelbarrow loads of light, bulky waste.
How long does the skip stay?
3 days on site come with every skip.
Loads
Can soil go in a skip?
Yes. Soil counts as a heavy load, the same as rubble. It belongs in a 2m³ or 3m³ skip.
Can asbestos go in a skip?
No. Asbestos is removed by a registered asbestos contractor and never goes in a skip.
Can the load stick out above the rim?
No. Load the skip flat and stop at the rim.
Placement
Do I need a permit for a skip on my driveway?
No. No by-law requires a City permit for a skip on your own driveway, yard or garden.
Who decides where a skip stands in a complex?
The body corporate or HOA decides. Ask it before you book the skip.
Can the skip stand on the pavement?
Yes, with the City's written permission first. A pavement spot needs the same Temporary Use permit as the road.
